Betsy graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Arts in the Humanities and Music Minor. She then graduated from Fresno Pacific University with a Master of Arts in Education / Emphasis on Integrating Mathematics and Science.Betsy received her equivalency degree in music therapy from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music and completed clinical training at The Veterans' Home and Hospital in Yountville, CA. She recently completed her Doctor of Education / Focus on Curriculum and Instruction from University of the Pacific.

Betsy was an elementary school teacher for fifteen years, specializing in teaching children about science and fine arts.
