Our Music Therapists
All music therapists employed by In Harmony Music Therapy Services have successfully completed required coursework from a degree program approved by the American Music Therapy Association, Inc. (AMTA). They have also successfully completed a clinical training program approved by an accredited university or by AMTA. In Harmony Music Therapy Services only hires music therapists who have earned their MT-BC (music therapist-board certified) credential or are eligible to sit for the exam given by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) in order to receive their credential.

The Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) which is governed by the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA). Board Certified Music Therapists adhere to the Code of Professional Practice and Music Therapy Scope of Practice set forth by CBMT. Other organizations currently accredited by NOCA include (but are not limited to) the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, National Board for Certified Counselors, Behavioral Analyst Certified Board, American Association of Medical Assistants, and American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Certification.
